Welcome to the weekly guide to Doctor Who on Television.
Big Doctor Who TV news this week is in Poland. Yes, Poland. European Country - slightly east of Germany. TELE 5, a digital channel in Poland, recently picked up Polish-dubbed Tom Baker episodes. 2 episodes a weekend, Saturdays and Sundays at 9:30AM Central European Time (CET). TELE 5's website is http://www.tele5.pl/ . I'm not sure if you can pick it up over the air, but it is available unscrambled (in digital) on satellite. ASTRA (orbital position: 19,2 degrees East) 10.832GHz, horizontal, 27500Bytes

There is apparently a TELE 5 in Germany. Do not get it confused with this TELE 5 - they are different.
South America - Still need help from someone who has Uniseries http://www.uniseries.com.ar down there. What Doctor Who episodes are they airing?
USA - The 1996 Doctor Who Movie (starring Paul McGann) is airing on the Sci-Fi Channel http://www.scifi.com/ on Sunday, June 30 at 5PM Eastern. Use the schedulebot to adjust for local time.
USA - WLED-DT 48 Littleton, NH joins the ranks of Doctor Who affiliates broadcasting in digital. It is one of the stations of New Hampshire Public TV. WENH-DT 57 Durham/Manchester is already on the air, and WEKW-DT 49 Keene, NH will go on the air in the future. At this time, New Hampshire Public TV's digital schedule is different from its analog schedule, so Doctor Who is not yet on the digital stations up there.
All the broadcast stations airing Doctor Who in the US are public broadcasters - public TV stations have until May 2003 before they are required to have digital signals on the air. Commercial TV stations had till May 2002 to get digital signals on the air, and hundreds of them missed the deadline, throwing into serious question the timetable for US TV's transition to digital broadcasting. On the current timetable, all the analog TV stations are supposed to be turned off in 2006, provided 85% of TV viewers can get the digital signals. Then the digital channels are to move around until they all are between channels 7 and 51. Channels 2,3,4,5,6,52,53,54,55,56,57,58,59,60,61,62,63,64,65,66,67,68,69 are intended to be taken off the TV band and given to other technologies.
AUSTRALIA - We bid a reluctant goodbye to UKTV in Australia after this week's edition. After this Sunday's reruns of Survival and Doctor Who (1996), UKTV is resting the show. UKTV rested the show after its initial cable run ended in 1998, from late 1999 to early 2000 after a best-of run, and rested the weeknight airings for a few months early this year when they got too far ahead of the weekend airings. Therefore, we are confident that Doctor Who will return to Australia after this break. Jason is reporting on his website that he is working on tracking down Doctor Who's entire Australian broadcast history, and hopes to post it on his website in the coming months.
